"Once I was able to focus on my own individual journey as a dancer, aside from where others were in theirs, I was able to enjoy the art-form much more and I found freedom in dance. Comparison can be used as a negative hinderance or as a positive motivator. Use it wisely”

- Ciara Glass

Ciara Glass has been in the industry since the age of 12. In high school Ciara was hired as an apprentice for two dance companies. Her first company experience was with the modern dance troupe, Black Rock Dance Company, founded by Jennifer August. She was also hired into the ballet company, Sierra Nevada Ballet, founded and directed by Rosine Bena and was a soloist and guest performer for the local contemporary dance company, Dysrhythmia Contemporary Dance, directed by Jenny Buck. During that time Ciara competed regionally and nationally in many classical and contemporary competitions across the West Coast and received national recognition, awards and invitations to join professional dance groups. After high school, Ciara continued her dance exploration at University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she trained under many accomplished and distinguished choreographers such as; Sidra Bell, Donald Lunsford, Kim Bears-Bailey, Wayne David, Roni Koresh, Brian Sanders, Christine Cox, Denis Gronostayskiy, The Forsythe Company and more.

Ciara has continued her dance studies in world renowned studios including; Peridance, Steps on Broadway, Broadway Dance Center, The Ailey Studios, Alonzo King Lines Ballet, ODC Dance Commons, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Lou Conte Dance Studio, Millennium Dance Complex...and the list goes on. She has performed, choreographed and taught dance all over the country; in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Reno, and San Jose. She was also invited to spend a summer dancing with The Barcelona Dance Center in Barcelona, Spain.

Ciara’s core belief is that every person can benefit from dance and each should have their own unique journey within the art form. She believes in growth over perfection, and collaboration over competition, and is continually expanding her personal dance education. She is passionate about growing and learning new techniques, philosophies and exploring the bounds of her creative ability. Since founding the studio and C.Glass Dance Co. her main goals have been to inspire the younger generation of dancers to work hard and reach for their dreams, as well as invite EVERY adult to discover their passion for dance! Whether you’ve grown up dancing or have never stepped foot into a studio, Ciara firmly believes that every human on this earth can gain confidence and grow physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually through the amazing art of dance.

TESTIMONIALS

Anna Carlgren

“One of the most important things I love about company is the community that has developed. Everyone has a place to shine and share their talents. This season I hope to be able to develop my contemporary artistry. In high school I studied a lot of modern dance Graham, Horton, and Duncan. I am eager to to continue exploring style outside of the safety of classical ballet. This season I will gain strength in body and mind! And look forward to the challenges put before me.”

Emma Strasberger

“I was nervous to audition, not because of my dance skills but because I wasn’t sure how nice the dancers would be. I was happily surprised at how kind and uplifting all the members were. As time went on, I was able to make really great friendships that I hope to continue on into the future! I proved to myself that I am a good dancer and that I should have confidence in my abilities. I would say the company members have really changed my perspective on the typical “toxic” dancer mentality. It is so nice to be surrounded by people who believe in you, instead of people waiting for you to make a mistake so they can take your place. I am excited to do another season with Haus of Glass dance company and the many opportunities that come with the experience!”

“Performing again was a prayer answered; as someone who wanted to continue dancing after high school, but didn’t particularly fit into the college or professional category, Haus of Glass gave the perfect opportunity. I feel so lucky to have performed with the company this winter. Everyone is so kind, encouraging, and fun to be around and learn from. I would love another season with that type of environment, to continue my own growth as a terpsichorean, and community member.”

Ciara, I wanted to thank you again for being so welcoming these past few months. Having just moved to this side of the state, Haus of Glass has been an amazing outlet for me. If it hadn’t been for the motivation from you and the rest of the company, I would’ve spent my free time sitting at home too nervous to go and explore the city. The kind and accepting atmosphere that you’ve created at this studio has truly amazed me since the start. There was not a single day where I left the studio feeling less than or alone. You do a phenomenal job at making sure all your dancers get opportunities to show their strengths and grow at the same time. I feel beyond blessed to have been able to help your visions come to life through your stunning choreography.
